Art Is GAFF

Under The Blue Moon is, once again, running an art show as part of the festival’s merriment. The call is going out for artists who dabble in the subversive, gothic, fetish, underground, and weird. And by that I mean art styles not sexual preference.

Art is thought provoking.

This year the art is being taken out of the galleries, away from art snobs, and being displayed in the stores and streets, closer to the people. We have windows, walls, floors, and outside spaces waiting for you. If people won’t come to the art, we will take the art to the people. Here is an opportunity for you to reach the people. An opportunity to push the boundaries of what people know as art.

Art is public domain.

This is not just about displaying art for art’s sake, this is about selling your work and promoting your services. We want your art and ideas on display to the people. There will also be market stalls available for those with additional products to sell.

Art is consumerism.

If you think your work is suitable, then we want to know about you. We don’t care what your medium is - paintings, photographs, collages, drawings, sculpture, animation, videos, installations, performance, chocolate, mixed media, etc, etc, etc. We are very keen to have you displaying works, transforming stores and spaces, and creating and performing art on the streets. Live sculpture, portraits, performances, or anything you can think of doing in a public space, we want to know about. The aim is to match artists to the stores and spaces we have available to create atmosphere and opportunities. Let your imagination run wild.

Art is relevant.

We need to know who you are. We need your CV. We need to see samples of your work. And we want to know what you want to do and how you want to do it. Are you a video artist who wants to place a TV in a shop window? Are you a painter that wants some wall space? Are you a photographer that wants to set up a booth? Are you a performance artist that wants to work in the street? Are you a sculptor that wants to sculpt in Newtown Square ? Do you make t-shirts or posters or zines and want to be in the market? We are open to your ideas.

Art is now.

Apply Now. We are waiting.

Art is GAFF.
